Nancy O'Dell began her broadcast career as an anchor and reporter on WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later, she was a anchor of the morning news and as a the crime reporter at WCBD TV. O'Dell's reportage on the streets of Charleston regarding the leniency of police officers towards DUI cases resulted in the State Law Enforcement Division investigating the DUI cases. It was reported that the Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award in all South Carolina Media. Her work in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor, investigative report and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV.
