The months of summer 2021 be a time of uncertainty about how we will continue to maintain the vital human connections that was enjoyed by Rotary during the past. It is clear, however, that the hands-to-face mantra is going to remain part of our daily routine. Rotary is, however, developed. We are still uncertain about the manner in which the service we provide to others will incorporate the highly valued connections between people which Rotary Members enjoyed during the prior time. While the traditional 'hands in face space' will undoubtedly continue to be a component of our routine it is apparent that confidence is building and connections between face-to-face occur. Rotary is changing. Rotary's network creates bonds lasting. The pandemic served as the catalyst for us to take on the latest technology. We've honed our practices maintaining the business meetings online while introducing service and social activity using a friendly face-toface approach. The new possibilities have been combined with our best pre-pandemic practices to provide a fresh and bright future for Rotary. In a recent Rotary survey it was heartening to find that 75% of clubs are making plans for their "business routine initiatives" The months of summer have seen many members out and about focussing on initiatives such as beaches and rivers being cleaned, trash picking and of course the ongoing service to society from Rotary volunteer teams who give their time for COVID vaccine and test centers. Amazingly, our Rotarians have been able to find innovative and creative solutions to the biggest issues. That's why I was thrilled to have the chance to be a part of Rotary at the age of 22 in. As with many others, Rotary has provided me with a strong trustworthy network of likeminded people who have formed genuine relationships grown over the past 20 years.
